Quote: Arthur Warrior "Probably the most reasoned post on this thread.
All three are great rugby league players, and there is no doubt that on Saturday McIlorum had a poor game.
My thoughts are that when McIlorum has a good game, and he has had quite a few this season already, his style of play is what is more likely to help us beat the Aussies. I Like Clark and Roby has been a top player all his career but i don't see them frightening anybody at international level, whereas i do feel McIlorum has that x factor that should see him as the England No 9.'"
All of McIlorum's strengths are without the ball. The only thing I would like better than beating up the Aussies is beating them in a series. With McIlorum we have a better chance with the former than the latter. His limitations were cruelly exposed in the WC, his sort of in your face aggression has minimal impact. Talk of frightening the Aussies is comedy gold, that sort of rubbish was spouted before the WC. With our weak HBs we need some flare elsewhere, Roby & Clarke have that in buckets.
