How can you have it the week after the split? We would only know the fixtures one week before. That is not enough for the Magic Weekend. It should be the last round before the split to give it some extra importance.

That's a sure fire way to kill the "novelty" of the event I would say. If you start devaluing the whole concept by limiting the teams that can be in it then it simply wont make it worth while. If you have it the weekend of the cup especially at the quarter final stage, usually you will have at least 4 of the "big" teams left in the cup.

Its already devalued by the mickey mouse derby games and easy 2 points for certain teams

This, but with 2 games from each tier on each day, otherwise the middle 8 day attendance would be appalling. It is going to be a 23rd fixture before the split though, which is ridiculous IMO.

should be the 12th league game. After every team has played each other once (11 games) then the next weeks fixtures should be the first round of the cup that the top 12 enter. This then gives 2 weeks from game 11 to arrange the Magic fixtures, It should then be 11 v 12, 7 v 8 and 3 v 4 on the Saturday and 9 v 10, 5 v 6 and 1 v 2 on the sunday.........everybody plays a competitive game and 2 weeks to get tickets is no worse than some cup rounds
