Quote: Eastbourne Warrior "I don't know if any of this is true, it's speculation on the hull board. Should stress it's his wife/gf not him. 90 mins or the other end of the country doesn't matter. Everything you are accustomed to changes. You can't pop out with your mates or nip to mums on a whim for Sunday lunch. You don't walk down the street and see people you grew up with any more.
All I'm saying is that if I was in a position where my wife said I hate it here and I want to go home, I'd go. Some things are more important than money and careers.'"
This reminded me of Billy Kenny who played for Everton in the 90s and effectively ended his career at age 21 because he preferred to go to the pub with his mates and loved his mums Sunday lunch. He had played for England u 21s and was extremely promising.
The life changes that you refer to are called - Growing up!
He will have a long time in retirement about 50 years or so to go to the pub with his mates. Always assuming that they haven't all moved away to find work of course!
