Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013 Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013 Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10172.jpg

We went to watch the London v Salford game today, at the Hive, Barnet Football Club's new ground, in Camrose Avenue, Stanmore.
Google maps doesn't do it justice, as there is a second stand now.
The small terraces behind the sticks are covered, but won't hold many people.
The ticket office was one guy in a portacabin by the car park, so people were queuing up across the lanes in the car park, and he was handing a PDQ machine out through a small hatch, to enter the PIN number.
People were being frisked at the few turnstiles.
There were no food vans, and I could only see one small refreshment kiosk.
We sat in the padded seats in the East Stand, which had a very small bar with only three tills, from where you had to pay for and order food, drinks and the car park tokens.
There were twenty tables, probably another forty chairs, and only six urinals in the toilets. The beer was served in glasses, and the food was served on china plates.
Lovely little place for some pleasant hospitality, but I can only see it going horrribly wrong when Wigan come to town.
Sure, we didn't get to see the West Stand, but this is a much smaller venue than the Stoop, and just isn't ready for a large crowd who need food and a toilet!
I am hoping that they learn very quickly how to cope with significantly larger numbers before July.
For the last two years, we had hundreds queuing just to get in at the Stoop, and I fear this new ground will be a whole lot worse!

[quote="Steinlager":3bbybnw6]What do we want? Zaugg When do we want him? Now!  [/quote:3bbybnw6]:

i was on the south terrace and I'm quite looking forward to seeing Wigan visit.

The terraces are small, smaller than Salford's, but the crowd noise under the low roof is great. A packed terrace in full voice would be an awesome atmosphere.

Funny to see the entire terrace change ends at half time though, haven't seen the like in ages.

There was a bit of confusion with people queuing at the ticket office and some turnstiles being shut when I got there (early-ish). In the end I paid in cash on the turnstile without any problem. I noticed that you can buy tickets online and print your own, so that might be better for some travelling down.

The East stand is the smaller of the two on the sidelines (rlhttp://www.barnetfc.com/club/stadium/rl. I walked down the back of the West after the match and there were two bars, the home and away for the football. Only the home seemed to be open, guess they would have both open for a bigger crowd.

Anyway, plenty of time until July for them to get it right.

It's been fun.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_44480.jpg

I was also there but in the West stand.

The West stand is the biggest stand underneath it are a couple of bars, with sky TV, currently the bar staff are few and far between, friendly but understaffed.
There are also kiosks in which to buy food.

The end stands are small with low roofs and corrugated steel backs, leave your drums at home and just bang the backs like the Salford fans were doing. For so few away fans they made a lot of noise so the teams that bring a larger noiser crowd will enjoy the atmosphere.
The end stands are linked up by going behind the main West stand so able to change ends at half time.
There are a few more toilets dotted around the stadium than Stu made out.

The East stand although it is one of the long stand it probably has the least capacity, if you want to get close to the team/subs/managers etc you will be very close to them, this is the stand Stu mentions, it's the premier stand but it is also the most restrictive. The only stand you can't take drinks out to the seats and I'm not sure you're able to enter the other 3 seats.

The paying kiosk is card payments only, you can pay on the gate £23 on the day for the West stand, couldn't tell you the prices for the other stands as it's my 1st game.

Don't bother with parking on the official car park most of the surrounding streets either have no restrictions or Mon to Fri restriction. Save a few quid and walk.

Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES. Martin Offiah MBE, pre-Grand Final Speech, 2nd October 2010.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_33718.jpg

I guess there will be the usual big following for our annual London trip. Where is everyone staying ?
