| Difficult to know what to say.
Just an inspirational and brave man who brought the rugby league family together throughout his illness.
I thought the applause today was very fitting.

| Heard this earlier today, although i knew he had cancer and had been battling for years the news really shocked me, i had no idea he was so ill..RIP Steve, a true saint in every sense of the word, i also thought the applause during the proposed silence was very fitting and brought a tear to my eye..

| Tragic at any age, always seems worse when the family affected is so young! On the BBC it said initially he was given only months to live in 2006, and for what its worth, I think in the face of such tremendous adversity the fact that he fought for so long and still managed to do all the things he did, speaks volumes about the kind of man he was and goes on to say much more than I could think to say, so I wont even try!
Condolences to his family, mates, and people who he has represented all the years of his struggle.
Rest in peace Steve and to his family or friends if they happen to read anything on these pages in the coming weeks, be as immensely proud as you can be and I have no doubt you will be.

4916_1342356991.gif Rugby league must be a great game to survive the people who run it.
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_4916.gif |

| Couldn't even begin to try and put into words how I felt when I heard this yesterday, think part of me had started to believe and hope he was indestrucible. His family must be going through such awful mixed emotions, great sorrow one minute and immense pride the next. Rest in peace Steve you were truly unique.
