Yes the middle of the first tier is corporate which makes it strange the rest of the end was not full.
Beaten on the field outnumbered off the field.
All in all not a good night for our wire friends !

| I was also surprised by Wires turnout, they always seem to give it the big I am when it comes to attendances in previous finals so I guess my expectations were too high. As for the attendance, it was also reflected in the Cup final...hopefully it's a sign that people are saving their money for the World Cup rather than neutrals losing interest. We shall see.

| 78,000 at the CC, 66,000 at the GF.
I think despite the GF being the current way to decide the champions (which is us in case anyone forgot already ) the CC is much more "neutral-friendly".
The GF is partisan. The CC is an occasion with a weekend out in London for a lot of people.

| The 2nd tier of the west stand was around 1/3 full and the NW quadrant had nobody at all in it. That said I still think Wire did really well for such a small club. People forget that they only attracting crowds of around 4-5k when they were playing at the zoo. Bless em

| Very few Yorkies there on Saturday..... had Leeds been playing 5000 'Ull fans would have been there just to support their opponents!
FWIW, I quite liked the empty spaces, made me feel at home being a Salford fan

Given OT is only a stones throw away for the majority of fans in the NW you would think that the huge cost differential would mean more would turn up to the GF (from the two clubs in question) relative to the CC final though. It would be almost as much as the ticket (if not more) to just travel to London, for Wigan/Warrington fans it's comparatively inexpensive.
I think fans are generally being turned off and can't be d as well as having to think about other financial priorities...
