| Leeds made the second most meters against us last week of any team all season. The back 3 are too lightweight and we need a bit of grunt and that x-factor...why cant we play Hock? Isn't he our player til the end of the season? He's worth including despite some of his shortcomings. Plus I'd bring back Burke a loose forward to replace Lockers.

| Sometimes I don't really know what planet some people live on that post on this forum. Green at 13? Logan at 9? Mcllorum at 13? Sam Tomkins at 13???? Bring back Hock?
The mind boggles, you lot are on crack, go have a lie down.

We'll just go with green and smith in the halves, Tuson or flower at 13, mcilorum at 9 and spelled by the clock with Logan, then we can sit back and watch the same dross that wev been treated to for the last 3 months. Wane needs to do something different, that is apparent. People are offering their suggestions of how he can do this. If you don't agree then fair enough, don't think you need to start asking what planet people are on though.

He does need to do something different. Playing players in the positions quoted is not the answer. Unfortunately we don't have the personnel to change things around, that's just life. You will sit back and watch Green and Smith at 6/7, Tuson/Flower at 13, Mickey at 9 spelled by Logan, that's it. Why would he change and experiment with the line-up in the most important game of the season? It's a shame, but we have no other options

I don't think wholesale changes need to be made. In a team that seems to be lacking attacking cohesion switching everything around isn't necessarily going to be a miracle cure. If anything a smarter style of play would be more effective than chopping and changing.
The biggest worry I have is Green's form. There were some brief glimpses of good things against Leeds with his good short pass to put Thornley through a gap and his break down field. Unfortunately there was still a lot that was wrong, particularly his woeful pass that was intercepted by BJB.
If Green was replaced I'd worry about Hampshire a) because he seems less effective on the left than the right, and b) because Westerman's try for Hull showed just how much he struggles in defence against bigger players. Westerman isn't exactly a powerhouse but Hampshire was powerless to stop him.
Powell has showed some good signs and has already played against some good teams. His kicking game has looked very dangerous and if there's one thing that the cup final showed it's that a good kicking game can be a game winner as long as the defence is solid. Powell might not be likely to put players through gaps like Green did when in form but he does have a smart kicking game that might take some pressure off Matty Smith, who Huddersfield will no doubt be watching like a hawk on the last tackle.
If Green does start then I'd at least hope that Powell is on the bench. It would be very harsh on Logan Tomkins who has done well at times but he really does seem to be more effective when starting games. I've got this nagging feeling that Green is going the same way as Finch at the end of last year and might be more likely to lose us a game than win us one.

| Not really weird, we need some spark in attack and we have the best player in super league stood around at the back waiting for things to happen in front of him. Move Sam forward and give him licence to create havoc. We've tried almost everything else. Tell Sam to go strutt his stuff.

| If we had a more experienced 9 than Logan then I think McIlorum at 13 in the present situation is a good idea. Unfortunately, I don't think Logan would be up to 80 minutes vs Huddersfield.
But I do think McIlorum in at 13 is something which would be good as his defence is strong, and his passing game would be the closest to Lockers' without sacrificing the strong defence.

Not meaning to have a go, like I said I've posted some very experiment suggested lineups on these threads. I'm not convinced of the wisdom of sticking our smallest player in the position where you have to do the most tackling though, presumably for 80 minutes as well. On top of that he would be expected to find the energy to be our gamebreaker in attack. Then the forwards (wbo are already generally struggling for hard yards against top teams) would have more work to do metreswise. If I was Paul Anderson I'd tell the forwards to run all over Tomkins at every opportunity. Then on 5th get Brough boot it as high as he can then everyone clatter Hampshire when it comes down
I'd atick with Flower and tell the whole pack they're gonna need to set up a better platform. If the forwards can get us so momentum and field position Sam won't look so impotent. Then bring Rocky on and tell him and Sam to swap between 6 and 1 as they see fit, keep Huddersfield guessing, and someone get on A.Powell's shoulder ready for the offload! I think Gelling would be handy to have in this one too. Tell him to take some weight off the forwards shoulders like usual but keep a real tight grip on that ball when he does!
