We should want rich investors to come into RL and project a bit of interest into the game. We should want the very best players to want to come and play here and get paid what they deserve without having to fly half way round the world to get it or leave and play Rugby Union. OK there's always got to be some kind of limit to what is spent, if it was like football then it'd just completely spiral out of control. But we're not even in line with inflation, let alone in line with our nearest competitors in the NRL and RU.

Where are all of these rich investors? Surely they would buy up the teams now 'on the cheap' and and run them within the confides of the restricted salary cap (and run them below market value)? Surely that is what a 'rationale' businessmen would do.
