| It seems that I too am in the minority again.
Logan tackles more and tackle harder the sam Powell, who in my opinion may make a mid table half back but would need to learn to take on a defence to make a proper impact. Logan does not run often enough from dummy half granted, but I would ave him on the bench for MM any day and expect him to come on each year to be indispensable.
Defence wins games and logan is bloody good in defence, earns his spot for me every week.

| Everyone needs a back up hooker so this argument about him not being as good as MM seems to be pointless. I don't think anyone would argue that he is. What he does offer is decent cover when MM is tired. I also think the comments re just because his name is tomkins he gets a gig. If that were true play his dad!
I think he has really come on this year, still quite a bit of improvement to be made but if there's a cheaper backup hooker out there I've yet to see him.

If he can play well, consistently, for the rest of the year then people may change their opinion of him.

| Logan only gets so much negativity because he's a tomkins. People seem to think its how he's getting a game, but for the most part people wouldn't be so negative if he wasn't a tomkins. Powell has shown no more than him, but he doesn't get as much stick.
He's only 21 and no worse than mcilorum was when he was 21. Intact mcilorum was getting stick still in 2011 around the time of our last challenge cup victory.

| I disagree I think Powell has shown much more in attack than Logan has, defensively they both need work.

| He did ok and he's that type of player. He's no stand out, he doesn't particularly do anything wrong but his physical attributes mean he's limited.
I think we need more from the bench but that's for another day.

| LT is an average back up hooker at best fact ! There are better prospects playing outside Super League who would inject more to your side in both defence and attack defiantly , IMO Logan is far from being a SL player and is in your side for one reason and one reason only !!

Agree.
He did nothing special yesterday but he did not do much wrong either. He is in the same position now as MM was in 2010 season. Where he has to step up and show he can be a constantly good at his role. I remember the GF 2010 when they read the team and MM started instead of Riddell i thought that Madge had lost it. But he put Cunningham in his pocket. Logan Tomkins has go to now improve week on week or if he plays as he has this season he is not good enough overall.

| Mcilorum is a great player who is ferocious in defence and organises us very well. What I'd be looking for Logan is to offer us something different from the bench. Maybe an injection of pace or a different threat in regards to sniping around the ruck area.
I thought Heremaia did well for Hull yesterday in that regard. I'd love to see Mcilorum control the match for a period and then us inject some pace and something different to the game.

| People comparing Logan to McIlorum early days are wrong, I remember McIlorum showing class in his first few appearances for Wigan. He is and always has been a great hooker. I have seen nothing from Logan to say that he can make it at Wigan. Hopefully the rumours of him going to NZ with Sam are true, if not, Leigh or at best Widnes beckons for him IMO. I'd love to be proved wrong because he seems like a great lad and popular with team mates but for me he just isn't good enough for Wigan. We would be a much better team if we had a better hooker to come on when McIlorum goes off.

Mciloruns decision making in 2010/11 was awful and wed lose all attacking. Cracking player now, crunches people in defence regularly, but he definitely improved considerably, and its possible logan will too given time.
