I'm no expert on betting (I bet on grand national and nothing else) so am no expert on how bookies select odds but surely it has to have something to do with minimizing losses for them. A lot of people will have put a lot have money on us prior to our recent slump and Hull's resurgence so driving the odds shorter and shorter (so that winning bets pay out less in total). The bookies will not want to encourage more people to bet on us and potentially increase the money they have to pay out by lengthening our odds. I would expect Hull's odds will shorten too if large amounts start to be bet on them winning.
