Perhaps the reason that we 'only' had to get past London in the '99 Final, was that we had knocked out all the leading contenders on the way??
...Wigan, St Helens and Bradford (plus Widnes) were all knocked out by that Leeds side on the way to Wembley. Probably one of the toughest routes to winning the Cup in the modern era.
