How was i patronising to Wakefield its true for them its an achievement to make the top 8. Without the fear of relegation the owners of the clubs who 9 times out of 10 languish near the foot of the table so all they have in reality is taking part in the game. They will not win a trophy in the next 10 years. Yet is it acceptable for us to have that type of attitude on the field. I have argued with DaveO i think Wane is the right coach for us and that i do think we can win a trophy this season. But if we fail to make a final this season i do think he could go. As his contract is up and no announcement has been dame but i do think IL has the option of an extra year for him if he wants.

As for RL players not having a win at all cost attitude of course they do. What do you think they do when they do not go back 10 meters, push the ball out in the tackle, late hit on a player kicking the ball, Chicking Wing tackles and some players will even try and goad the ref into making a decision. Sam, Briers, Long and Faz are good at it.

If we do not get to any final this season will IL view it as success or failure.

Glad to hear that you weren't being patronising to Wakey, they gave us a hell of a game last month and deserved to win even without their best two players.

If you think that Rugby League players try to win at all costs by cheating like footballers do then I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

Success or failure isn't a black and white issue like some people think (The - "If we don't win a trophy then he's a failure" - mentality). It's all about context. Any reasonable person would take other things into account like how well the team have performed over the season, whether they have had bad luck with injuries and so on, because if it was down to luck then that might change next year and we win something without the upheaval of changing the coach.

Football is the worst game in the world for cheating its minimal in RL compared to it. When you got a manager who uses the media to put pressure on a ref and then gets the team to do it in a game then its beyond a professional game.

Do not get me wrong we have seen some extraordinary displays by Wane's teams Leeds away last season been 1 of the best and the humiliation put on Saints in the Magic Weekend until Hock's brain fart was fantastic. But for all the great games come September get 1 bad one its over. Its not Wane's fault that the league is the third most important thing to win now but in the end he has got to win something or he will not get an extension. Though if we get to a final i can see him here next season. Though after that i agree with DaveO he has got to win something in 2014.

Don't know. IL played his cards very close to his chest with Noble IIRC. Maybe something will be said after the CC. That time seems to be the favourite suggestion for an announcement re Sam so maybe something about Wane will be said then also.The last we heard on the matter was from Wane (I think) saying contract talks were on the back burner.
