Except that on that site, they are very willing to talk crowd figures right now!

The attendances figure announced is the people through the turnstiles. For health & safety reasons they cannot make it up. For example if there was a fire and people needed to be evacuated they need to know exact numbers. Same for if hospitals needing to know how many people were injured in a certain stand or whatever. They would need to alert staff at numbers expected if you know what I mean. In this day and age everything has to be accurate.

It has nothing to do with H&S, the club will know exactly how many people entered the stadium yesterday. |

I thought it looked similar to the London game. I don't know what benefit the club get from saying the crowd is larger than it really was! I can understand saying its less but not more.

Latics lie about their attendances all the time, they give 3,000 free tickets away every game and they all count to the attendance whether they attend or not. Both Warriors & Latics count all the season tickets whether they attend or not. So that can't be right. Wigan lied about the attendance yesterday, there was never near 12,000 on. |

What would be the point unless they were able to perform a head count of all those evacuated? While that wouldn't need too many fingers for Saturday's crowd I couldn't see it happening at, say, a Wigan-Sts derby. |
