Kick-starting the Wigan Warriors Showcase Stage for 2013 which takes place before the Wigan v Warrington local derby at the DW Stadium this Friday are Junction23. The band who describe themselves as “Meaty indie/rock driven by funky bass riffs and tight drum grooves” have recently been making a name for themselves on the local music scene and are keen to perform their songs to the amassing rugby league fans.

The band are Jack Savage - Guitar/Vocals, Matthew McFegan – Guitar, Jed Winstanley - Bass Guitar and Chris Thomason – Drums.

This is the first time the boys have performed on the WWSS and the band are looking forward to playing as the Wigan and Warrington fans assemble; “Jack - "It's gonna be great to play in front of so many people. We can't wait for people to hear some of our new stuff." Jed also added - “The only thing better than playing our original music to lots of people is playing our original music to the people of Wigan.”

You can catch the band playing on the Wigan Warriors Showcase Stage (opposite the South Stand Bar) about an hour before K/O

The Wigan Warriors Showcase Stage started back in 2005 and has since seen scores of the best local unsigned musicians performing for the arriving crowds. Well-known local names such as Inside View, Boomin, Plasmastorm, The Atomic Hound Dog, This Devastated Fan, Pauline Blackburn and Stans Magic Foot have all graced the stage since it started, giving the bands more exposure and the fans a chance to sample some of the best up and coming unsigned talent around.
