| In my opinion The "On Report" system is seriously flawed and is used as a "cop out" option by the referee.
Currently when a player is put on report the referee and touch judges have suspicion of foul play, the incident is then referred and the non offending team given a penalty, the non offending team may in turn lost a player to serious injury (Ref Tangi Ropati v Castleford)and gained no advantage from the foul play.
I suggest that any player who gets put on report should serve an automatic 10 minutes in the sin bin along with a penalty awarded.
This course of action would address a number things
1. The non offending team would have an immediate advantage, at the moment guilty players would serve any ban at a later date with the non-offending team gaining no compensation or redress.
2. The transgressing player gets time to cool off.
3. The coach of an transgressing player has time to decide a course of action whether to send the player back into play or use a substitute.
In addition should a player be instantly dismissed due to foul play and the player is subsequently found guilty of the offence then that game should count towards his suspension. I propose that if the incident is within the first sixty minutes of the games start then this counts as one game towards his sentence. This suggested practice
would be fairer to the player and his club and would clarify a grey area for the fans.

| Just get the VR to review it immediately. If it isn’t clear, leave it for after the game, if it is clear we get immediate punishment.

This! We have the technology, why not use it!!
How many times have we seen an incident go 'on report' just as the big screen shows the offender has quite clearly put a late/high shot on a player, this guarantees massive howls from the crowd and we end up with the situation where the only person inside the stadium who is unaware of the severity of the incident (as he's not supposed to look at the screen) is the only one who is in charge.
How easy would it be for the ref and the video ref to use their judgement and quickly watch a replay (for Sky Games) before issuing a decision?

but then we would need a VR at every game, and that wont happen due to cost.
as on earlier poster said.......scrap it, and force the ref to grow a pair and make a decision

47035_1386433761.gif We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_47035.gif |

| Scrap it. RFL can cite anything missed during the game. The only thing on report shows is that the ref has seen something but not sure what.

| It's a cop out. If he has given the penalty then someone has seen what happened and should therefore be in a position to state whether it's a yellow or red card. Yes they sometimes get them wrong but I'd rather have that than the crap we have now.
In RU the TJ can speak to the referee about something and he will ask him the punishment. In RL the TJ stands there and does naff all and when he does is usually ignored by the referee anyway.
