| Quote: DaveO "Which bit of "unemployment is s scary thing" and "your are along time retired from sport" didn't you read in my previous post? I can understand those motivators quite easily. I still think it will be sad if he has to push his body where he was adamant it wasn't going.
'"
I got those bit loud and clear but I also got a sense you've taken it as some sort of kick in the teeth that he's thinking of continuing with another club which is crazy. He's a Kiwi, he was moving back to New Zealand and I'm 100% confident the NZ warriors are the only side he would have signed for.
I watched the interview with him on the Wigan site last night and I got a sense that he simply didn't think he would get an opportunity to continue playing professional rugby league back home in New Zealand as he obviously doesn't have many clubs to choose from. His decision to retire was always about taking his kids home to be near their grand parents so I don't understand the point you keep making him about him pushing his body too far. His age and fitness were always a secondary concern in his retirement decision.
Good luck to him.

Well you'd be wrong then.

I don't see how that argument stacks up. All he had to do was ask his agent to see what was on offer in the NRL and instead of saying he was retiring he could have said he was off to an NRL club once his contract was up.

You can stop worrying now Dave as it looks like Carmont has decided to retire.
The 34-year-old recently trained with the New Zealand Warriors after returning to Auckland with his family, but is thought to have abandoned plans of a swansong season in the NRL.'"

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| I actually wish he'd signed for them. Would've loved to see him in action in the NRL if he got a game.
