Champions from 5th = minus 5 credibility (imagine what it will be like if one day 8th was to be crowned as CHAMPIONS)

What was the result when Leeds beat Saints this year in the play-offs? And v Wigan last year?



Leeds are the most unworthy "champions" in the entire history of the game. I suspect you know this also.

They don't play the system better. Anyone who thinks they engineered this is living in cloud cuckoo land.

They have benefited from the system as it stands. There is a BIG difference.

I think unworthy is unfair dave, granted the system is flawed , but Leeds have proven again that they know how to win big games and achieve success....you can only go out and do your best in the format that is laid out , and thats what Leeds have done...they ahve achieved what everyone else set out to do , so unworthy...definately not

The New York Giants won the superbowl last season but had unspectacular pre playoff form. No loss of credibility there? That's because they accept the system and people gear for that one game. Whole seasons are planned to generate that one special moment.

I'm sorry but how have they benefited? Its a benefit playing every week away at Wigan and Catalans and then beating the 2nd placed side in the final? Thats cuckoo land.

Its blindingly obvious to me that Leeds peak at the right time. They do what they need to get in the play offs then back their talent to beat anyone else in them.

They've had it harder than we and Wire have this season and last.

Exactly! It really is that simple. And no-one is blaming them, as some are suggesting.

End of the day it will be my team with that big shiny "Champions" badge on their arm (again) next season so I couldn't give a monkeys what you lot think of the play offs,

What a load of rubbish

Maybe 2013 will be the Year of the Pies?

With signings like Matty Smith and Blake Green you are making efforts to close the gap between yourselves and the top clubs and I am sure with your great crop of youngsters that are always coming through, Wigan have every chance of being competitive next year.

For me it's not so much credibility, it's a money concern for me.

My worry is fans adapting to the system the same way the players have. If the fans start to only turn up for derbies and playoffs, then the money will float away from the game and the game will crash.

This may never happen and maybe it's a fear that will never come true. But you can see the arguement about why fans should not bother in the weekly rounds.

As for the players playing the system, that's fine, it's the rules we have.
