Quote: bewareshadows "When we had club call a few years back, I wanted us to pick Wigan in the semi not huddersfield.
Wigan were the big rivals and not to be too disrespectful, I thought we could have handled pretty much everyone else in the final that year.
But Wigan had been so dominant. I just thought if we were going to beat them then at home in a semi, we stood more chance than in a grand final were the fans cannot really get into the players or the ref as it's so noisy.
No one can say if the result would have been different, but Wigan last game ever at KR in a semi for the GF, it just seamed made to be. Where as Saints v Wigan in the final it just seamed too comfortable for Wigan.
So I would say there is an arguement to pick the tougher team at home rather than in the final. But then I would not mind Saints getting Leeds or Catalan at LP. So I'm a bit biased.'"
Wane mentioned that he would not mind having another go at the Rhinos to avenge the CC semi defeat; whether they can beat the Catalans away is a tough call but whoever comes through that game will have taken a battering. The Saints win will make the next game against Wire (they should win against FC or Giants) another real play off battle.
There will be no surprise choice just the lowest ranked team which should be the easier route to the GF.
