Enjoyed myself reading through those comments on the SL Facebook page, especially the ones that have an hatred and jealousy of anything associated with Wigan!

I had to laugh at one Wakey fan claiming that Tim Smith should be ahead of Finch and that Richard Agar should be 'Coach of the Year'.

They've won a few matches.

But it's nothing new. Wakey have a track-record for all suddenly coming out of the woodwork when they start playing well. If it's around election time, they tend to bring an MP with them as well.

It was about eight or nine years ago now when Wigan were lambasted by them online for "deliberately not having enough turnstiles open when we met them in the play-offs, so they wouldn't be on the terrace in force to greet their heroes as they came out". Of course, the embittered Wakey posters failed to mention:

a) When they usually come to the DW, one turnstile is sufficient (in fact we've often had to close the North Stand on days when they've visited)
b) Most of the ones who travelled that night make the trip so rarely that they didn't know their way to the DW.
and
c) Most of them set off far too late.

But hey ... it was all our fault.

Dont they half, the crowds ave fairly shot up this season now they are doing well. All the same it is good to see, the more big clubs in RL the better.

I'm a Wakey fan next weekend too.

Ah well maybe they had a point about it in some ways but tbf who is stupid enough to think that the team wouldnt be made up of players mostly from the top 2 sides?

Its like me (A Crewe fan) moaning that there isnt a Crewe representative in the football league team of the season or that there wasnt one in the team of the week last week even though theyre 13th in their league atm.
