Platt,
Ralph,
Broome,
Fleming,
R.Hurst, (only scorer on Wigan team -1Try)
Ashcroft,
Alty,
Grundy,
Mather,
Williams,
Silcock,
McTighe,
J.Parr.
Thanks in anticipation!'"
I was at the match and this is what I can rember about the players you named,I presume the order you name them is the posistions you think they played.
No1 Platt,it was not him.
No2 Ralph,as he was right wing I dont see how he got across to the other wing when Baily(also right wing) ran 20 yards to score.
No3 Broome was a big lad with a head of black hair.
No 5 Ronnie Hurst also was a very dark haired lad and you say it wasn't him.
This leaves Nos 4 and 6. You have Ernie Ashcroft at No 6 and Fleming at No 4. Ernie Ashcroft played 95% of his rugby at No 4 to my knowledge, even though he may have played at 6 on the odd occasion.
Now we come to Fleming,as far as I know he played a lot that particular season at No 6 and I have this vague recolection that he was a blonde lad.
Not conclusive I know but I hope it helps.
