Nice chap as well, his son goes to the same school as my eldest, his lads always have the full Wigan kit on, on non uniform days. Lives on the same estate as me and often see him with his wigan RL bags and shirts.

They brought him on the pitch once iirc and we should certainly be getting him to do a lap of honour ASAP at one of our games when he hopefully wraps up this tour de France.

It's brilliant for the club to have such an amazing sportsman supporting us.

It's hard to see him not winning the tour now. He was a pre race favourite along with Cadel Evans and he's almost 2 mins ahead of Evans going inro this week. I'm sure he'll win it and win gold in the Olympic time trial. Our club should really tap into him from a marketing angle. Great opportunity!!

Amazing sports man is right..

The Tour De France is a huge event and to have the guy whos leading it showing his support for us, but most importantly our game..should not be over looked by wigan and the RFL..

one tweet from someone like ferdinand is seen by over 2 million people all over the world..thats publicity our game as ever had on a daily bases..

one tweet on a friday or monday to say "guys watch sky sports 2 tonight, you'll love it" will get more people tuned in than 1000 stobart trucks.

"Like" Team Sky on facebook, find that photo and "like" it. It's got a chance of being their wallpaper for a day or two, as was said above, priceless publicity.
