Agreed, though if we'd been playing anywhere near a decent standard, we'd have been too far ahead for it to have mattered.

Had the ref not had such a shocker at the end of the first half and gelling had taken his chance, we could have been 12 points up at half-time. We scored first in the second half. We would have seen the game out even with the sending off.

I can see why he did it but he shouldn't. A knock on effect is that if teams feel he has a short fuse they will target him and wind him up.

They've targeted him for two years - this is the first time he's reacted with a punch. Mostly he crunches the guy in the tackle.

It was another poor decision by the ref - one of MANY. It's a yellow at worst. No problem with McIlorum standing up for himself though - house tactics by Elima.

Awful refereeing resulted in him being red-carded.

There was a lot of confusion around us in the East stand, the card looked yellow, and we were wondering why he wasn't back on after 10 minutes.

We thought it was a yellow card in the West Stand.

There was a lot of niggling all match, seemed like part of their game plan and it worked. They were at him all match I listened to GMR commentary and Phil Kinsella said Micky Mac's kick was a poor one - he failed to mention that someone had just taken his legs from under him. Was waiting for Gaz Hock to explode in the first half but fortunately he didn't. Apart from being in his face all the time I was pretty sure some of the Bradford players were concentrating on pulling his shorts down which was just nuts but I suppose if you want to niggle someone you'll try anything and others will try the same so the team need to learn to rise above it or it will cost us again.

I'm in the you defend yourself camp. Yes it was another contributing factor to our loss but it wasn't wholly responsible.
I very much doubt many on here would sit back and allow themselves to be elbowed without reacting, whether playing in a rugby match or not.
