If this miss- match does not convince the organisers of Rugby League that the format of the matches is wrong I dont know what will. I like the concept of a rugby league festival but these games can be made competative by using a very simple formula.
AFTER ROUND 13 THE TEAMS KNOW WHO THEY ARE PLAYING
THE LEAGUE TABLE WILL DICTATE IT.
IST PLAYS 2ND
3RD PLAYS 4TH
5TH PLAYS 6TH
7TH PLAYS 8TH AND SO FORTH

This simple format will ensure that the festival does not field any teams that has this total mis match senario.

central park wasnt in that bad a state, you can go to wakey, cas, bradford, HKR, and Leeds now and central park was in a better state than them all. You obviously havent seen the pitch at the DW for a while if you think it isnt in a very good state. You would still be at Wilderspool if it wasnt for Tesco and the ariel liquatabs so I would keep that one under your hat flower.

Read the chapters in John Monie's book about the final years at Central Park to find out how bad a state the ground was in.

The old girl was in bad shape by the end, it's true, but CP was a special place.

No other ground in RL even comes close to the aura that CP had. Anyone that's been on that ground when it was full or close to full and starts to think about it will feel the hairs start to go up on the back of their neck. The atmosphere was incredible. It was a venue of legends.

I'm too young to have seen Boston and his generation play but to go there as a lad and watch Hanley, Edwards, Gregory, Bell and the rest was a privilege.

The people I feel most sorry for are the Wigan fans who are too young to have been able to sample the atmosphere at the greatest rugby ground in the world. They have been denied their heritage by the failure of the management of the club to protect its greatest asset.

Still, better to have loved and to have lost.... Enjoy your memories of Wilderspool...
