| He's awful, handling, positioning, ability to back himself, not wigan standard and shocked to hear that from others.
He will cost us a game at some point, even Wane expressed his thoughts about him luck very on tv during the latest match

Watch the replay of the game and see what Wane says (shouts) about him towards the end of the first half. You don't need to be much of a lip-reader
I agree that there's a player in there though. He's like a fish out of water on the wing at the moment but he looks to have a bit about him, if he's willing to learn how to play wing effective he could be destructive.

| I like the idea of him being on the wing. Big, Fast and powerful, great under the high ball and solid enough defensively. He runs the ball out bravely but we need to sort out his positioning and reading of his centre. Lets not forget that he not only learning a new position but also a new wing/centre partnership. I think the first time he played was outside Hughes who is inexperienced in himself. To play outside someone the quality of George who reads the game a second quicker than most isnt easy. If we nurture him in the right way, give the time and support to develop he could be a world beater. We could have our very own Vatuvai. For me he has the potential to be the long term replacement for Pat

| I recollect the same things being said about Pat Richards playing at centre out of position Gelling is a centre playing on the wing raw maybe but you can see he has potential.

| Stand by my original post in this thread. Couldn't see the fuss over him after the KR game. I certainly wouldn't consider playing him at centre either. Goulding's a centre and he coped alright on the wing for a season. It's not a hard transition from centre to wing. If you can't score tries on the wing in this team you've got a problem. He's got plenty of heart and scoots the ball in well but that only gets you so far. Would prefer to see King given a chance or to be more solid bring hughes in at centre and put goulding on the wing.

Richards was a NRL grand final winner when we signed him and playing in a rubbish team. This guy has been picked up from where was it? NZ amateur RL? Wherever it was, my point is they're not exactly comparable.

| I can see a good, maybe very good prospect in this young lad. not so many so called experienced players just come in and do well right from the start, just look back over history with others. he needs time to fit in, his main fault for me is his timing and positioning and this can only put right by playing first team games. it's better to learn now when we are doing well than to play him in a bad spell with even more pressure on him. it's not many who can just come in to any side and get it all right. so lets give the lad a break and if he is still not up to speed in a few more games fine, but he has not cost us a game yet, and I am more bothered about our goal kicking with the absence of pat than the education of this young prospect because at some time this has more chance of biting us on the backside.

| He was poor in a lot he did last night , but his commitment was not in question. He was always looking for work especially at the play the ball. He will have worse games and lot more good games . A young lad with bags of potential .

| if thornley comes back and nails the position i can see gelling slugging it out with tuson and huges for the 4th bench spot he is a 2nd rower as it stands and makes plenty of meters.

| He had a poor night last night. Confidence seemed shot after the break in the first half.
Still rather happy with him though.
