The only option that would be any fairer than the Galpharm is Oldhams Boundary Park, which is 38 miles for Leeds and 28 miles for Wigan.
Even if you went to Salfords ground it is less than 18 miles for Wigan and 38 miles for Leeds.
By contrast, Huddersfield and Warrington playing at the Salford ground is just about exactly the same for both teams for travelling to, so an absolute fair venue.

I already said that the Salford stadium is a perfect "neutral" venue for Warrington and Huddersfield as you couldn't get any more "neutral" in terms of equal mileage for both teams. But why should both semi finals be played there? Why do you think it is fair to whine like a child for Wigan playing in Lancashire, but think it is fair for both Yorkshire sides to go to Lancashire? Admit it, you are been biased.
You have to realise that there is a vast gap of hill land between Yorkshire and Lancashire, which means their is no Yorkshire ground on the border. The nearest to the border been Oldham in Lancashire, and Huddersfield in Yorkshire.

As a wigan fan there is a lot of moaning about nothing in this thread. Like the earlier poster said Huddersfield is close enough to equidistant. Stop winging about venues who cares.

The comment wasn't that Wigan fans were stupid full stop, but that Wigan fans were stupid to not understand the difference between "neutral" and over the border. Your response been we have gone to Yorkshire 9 times out of 11, how is that fair. Well done. |

yorkshire team playing in yorkshire against a lancs team is hardly a neutral venue even if it is on the border..........you cant have neutral if it involves teams from either side of the great divide and the match is played in either county....
What bit don't you understand....

we have had home county advantage twice in 11 meetings and had to play in the enemies domain 9 times......so on those stats it should be in Lancs........but we know the RFL will again play it in Yorkshire.
