| I love Finchy and hope he signs for another 2-3 years, but I can't believe people are putting in him in the same bracket at Barrett. Put Barrett into this side and we would be almost untouchable.

I love Finch but got to agree.
Barrett in this side would be crazy good!
Finch will more then do for 2 or 3 years though. I'm confident we'll keep him. I don't see how Saints can fit him in and if he goes to Hull well more fool him.

| Quote Albion="Albion"He's not a Wiganer, so I cannot see how this would affect him in truth.
It will probably be his last big contract, so he's going to look at making that as lucrative as he can and who can blame him for that?'"
Thing is, with Roberts gone and Leuluai going, as well as probably Fielden and Carmont, Wigan have a ton of cap room to play with next season and if we like we can offer Finch a truck-load of cash to stay put. It's up to Leneghan I guess, or should I say it's up to Wane to convince Leneghan that Finch is worth what we'd end up paying him

| Daft thing is - We could (if we wanted to) afford to pay him double.
Like you said, Amos is gone and Fielden is most likely going, but we haven't had either of them for so long that we could give one of their wages to Finch, replace the other and (in effect) still have gained an additional player for the squad.
2 non-players out, 1 player plus 1 massive contract in.
Can't see it happening, but I'm just pointing out that there is NO reason to lose someone of Finch's quality for a bit of cash.

| Exactly. Roberts and Fielden's wages have been pretty much dead money for the last two seasons so just tacking either's wedge onto FInch's current deal wouldn't really be missed. Hopefully that will be enough to keep him here. I wouldn't want us to be held to ransom though. He's not THAT good!

Barrett is magic he wears a magic hat...
Barrett was amazing for us, but this in now and now we need to get Finch to put pen to paper and sign another 2 years, bring another decent half back in to partner Finch... Brough, Dureau, Soward any of them will do for me
Wane said on BBC he wants to keep Finch at Wigan, I think just think they are making him to play for his contract.

| FINCH has grown into the Wigan team and we need to make every effort to keep him, he is a quality player who directs the team around the park and organises the side really well BUT we should not be held to ransom by him and pay him silly money He is not in my opinion anywhere near Trent's quality. Trent was a great player in an average side who would have won every individual honour if the press hadn't gifted it to Roby, his fellow professionals thought he was the best and so did everybody else, one of the biggest miscarriages to give to someone who only played off the bench for most of the season. TRENT was the best 6 we have had since the great Brett KENNY, with him in this team behind our dominant pack we would be unstoppable!

| Losing Finch would be disappointing but not crucial if Tommy was staying. Losing both the year the NRL's salary cap goes up with very few decent options over here would be devastating IMO, GET HIM SIGNED UP!

Trent Barrett was a very very good player. However, he picked and chose his games in my opinion. He ripped the lesser sides to pieces but rarely played well in the big games.
