If Horatio Yed is correct, then that's two stadia out of the reckoning for Saturday, so it would only have taken Hull and Hull City to make it through to this weekend (Hull City only just missed out) to cause even more problems.
The real problem is the fact that we have three rounds in five weeks and then a nine week break to the semis and then five weeks to the final.
Although I agree I can't see any logical reason for not playing Saturday especially if Catalan can't.'"
I don't think Catalan's stadium is in use on Saturday although that is the day of the French Elite League final in Narbonne so you can fully appreciate why the French do not want a clash.
The problem is not the scheduling of the competition - the RFL have scheduled it this way in response to previous criticism by fans of how it was scheduled. So no great suprise that rugby league fans continue to moan even when their original moans were addressed.
The REAL problem is that not all rugby league clubs have first call on the stadia they use. If they all did there would be no problem whenever the RFL scheduled games. Yourself has been focal in the past "mocking" Warrington's Lego stadium and Saints screw-fix stadium whilst praising the benefits of Wigan's lease arrangement at The Dave Whelan Stadium - perhaps in future you will acknowledge the problems that come with Wigan's leasing arrangements.
This is all getting to be a farce now, time for Wigan to bite the bullet and move the game to the "screw-fix" stadium. At least that way Daints won't lose out their proportion of the gate money that would be wasted in renting another facility.
