I think there's enough integrity in the game and honesty among the players to avoid that happening, although you can never be sure.
I have no issue with the referees playing on as often as possible, and while in the incident yesterday the player being down did seem to cost Wigan I think Widnes would have scored even if the play had been stopped.
The only issue I have with it is that I feel the game should be stopped if a player needs to be aided by several medical staff and the stretcher is brought on. Given how play can go from one end to the other in seconds I think that is the point when the game should be stopped, as there are far too many potential obstacles should play quickly switch to the other end of the field.
