Not sure whether this has been discussed or not but has the RFL ever thought about doing a charity round like they do in the NRL?

Each team picks a charity and for that round only change their socks to a different colour or something along those lines?

and maybe donate abit of money

I think it would be a nice idea and maybe change people's minds about rugby being just a bit of a thugs type of game.

The NFL do this a lot for cancer (i think). they are always sporting pink gloves, boots etc...

One of my close mates is the retail manager for Hull and he suggested this to the RFL close to 5 years ago, and they just didnt welcome it! Mind you, it took 4 years from clubs first asking, to being allowed to have a one off shirt for charity like the pink ones in recent seasons.

The NRL heritage round is a seperate round to the chairty one (women in league) which last year was for the McGrath foundation where most the teams wore pink and most of the players had pink boots which were later auctioned and raised a lot of money.

Both are good ideas and something the RFL should consider doing to raise money but also the profile of the game

The NRL teams do various charity days, jerseys, socks, boots etc of different colour to raise money for chosen charities. The commentators often give out the details of how to buy/bid for items often worn and signed by the players. Make money for charity and give fans the chance to buy items from their favourite players. It should not be to difficult to set up. Then again the RFL do not seem to be on the same wave length as the clubs and fans.
