Lazy journalism. There have been dozens of articles like this in the past claiming other teams (such as Arsenal) couldn't play proper football because of the pitch and now its Wigan Athletic who can't, with the blame being put at the rugby's feet.

Nearly every time that happens the ground staff at the club have defended the rugby but it falls on deaf ears. I really don't know why anybody responds to these reports any more. They should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I like Wane's no frills reply, no cowtowing to the football here.

Dreadful, dreadful 'non' journalism by this Mirror writer, it clearly isn't anything to do with us, We hadn't played on it for months, I don't expect any less from a narrow minded Mirror writer who probably wouldn't get far writing in other fields of journalism other than the football.
