Quote: Katrina "Maybe the skulls is why people are saying it's creating an intimidating image? They are quite an intimidating symbol, as you say with pirates etc. Why are they needed?'"
The skulls symbolise support beyond the grave, undying love for the club (hence the Cherry and White bar scarf). They aren't intended as an intimidating symbol, we took onboard the critisicism of the image and made it more "Wigan-esque" with the addition of the flat cap and pipe, a little tongue in cheek representation of our Northern roots, the text "Northern And Proud" speaks for itself! A skull itself isn't necessarily related to Wigan, but neither is the image of a Warrior
As for the Skull and Crossbones, it's simply an iconic and popular image that has been adapted with the lions face to make it relevant to our logo, it's bold and stands out.
