Wigan Warriors Showcase Stage PR

Performing on the first Wigan Warriors Showcase of 2012 before the Warriors take on the Huddersfield Giants will be Andy Unsworth (former lead singer with The Atomic Hound Dog) who will be performing an acoustic set consisting of old and newer favourites.

The Atomic Hound Dog were fairly well known on the Wigan music scene and performed at many local festivals including Haigh Hall, Mesnes Power Festival and Skemfest as well as supporting several signed acts including Witness, Matt Deighton (Mother Earth/Oasis), Beverly Martyn and Tom Hingley, (Inspiral Carpets) as well as being invited on tour to support Jim Bob (Carter USM) on 2 separate tours!

Quote: "Andy told us; “It is an honour to play the first Showcase of the year and entertain our fans and the visiting supporters. TAHD actually played at the first ever Showcase back in 2005 and again later in the year when we played Saints and we really enjoyed ourselves both times. It’s the 10th Anniversary of the first TAHD CD “Twelve” this year and we may be sorting out a reunion gig to celebrate, so it has been fun dusting down some of those songs to play on Sunday. Hopefully my fingers wont freeze and it will be a great day all round!”'"

In it’s 8th year now, the Showcase which is a platform for local bands playing their own music to reach a different audience and give Warriors fans a taste of what is out there has hosted dozens of promising local talent from Rock, to Pop, Indie to Dance, Acoustic to Punk.

We are now going through the selection process listening and looking at many of the requests from original unsigned bands and solo artists who have applied to play in one of the pre-game slots and are on the look out for more.
