The media have been rather silent on this the closest to an opinion is that his callup was a "shock". All the commentary has come from the RL community in it's various forms.

RL is the only sport on BBC TV outside football that has nationwide broadcast of a magazine program for it's elite competition, it also covers the the CC. Sky sports treats RL very well. Claiming media in the UK want to denigrate is ignoring the fact that coverage is on a par with it's popularity and participation statistics.
