Quote: Eaststand "The trouble is, a lot of famous sportsment are the targets of morons who think they can gob off and say what they like to them. I remember I was in a bar and a typical idiot poured a pint of beer over someone I knew quite well, who happened to be wearing a new suit. Unfortunatelly for the idiot his target was also European heavywight boxing champion at the time - a short left hook ended the matter and nothing more was said. Today the world is a much softer place and there would be a hue and cry, police would be involved and , no doubt, half of Westminster would be trying to get their share of publicity. I don't know the facts about Jonathan, but sadly nowadays the guilty party is often the winner of the fracas rather than the idiot who started it.'"
Yep this happened to Logan Swann. Some guy in a bar was winding him up saying he couldn't tackle, Swann took it in good humour and the guy invited him to tackle him so he did a soft mock tackle, so the guy carried on mouthing off saying see you can't tackle, give us a proper tackle then, so Swann tackled him like a professional rugby player would and of course the guy ended up with bad injuries and Swann got done for assault.
Most players actually know that they are on a hiding to nothing by reacting and so just ignore it but some people just have no respect and think it's fair game to shout what they want. I saw a Salford player in town once, with his missus, and some scally started shouting that his wife takes it up the Iestyn Harris, he was lucky not to get a smacking for that....players aren't going to 'just ignore it' when some guy is trashing their family.
