Quote: Wigan28/Leeds18 Andy "It's way more than that. Wigan got £38m TV money (which includes an element of performance based cash) for the 2009/10 season and it's even more now given the foreign TV deal.
rlInteresting article that looks at the Latics finances and basically shows they perform miracles just staying in the Premiershiprl'"
That's an interesting read Andy ,thanks for posting it.
One thing that stands out is "When Wigan opened the new stadium in 1999, it was one of the largest outside the Premier League. While the ambition has to be applauded, in hindsight it’s tempting to think that they should have opted for a smaller ground.
The stadium is actually owned by another one of Dave Whelan’s companies, Wigan Football Company Limited, which has granted the football club a 25-year lease at rates determined by match revenues, resulting in a £1.1 million charge for the 2009/10 season. Shared with the Wigan Warriors, the stadium was initially named the JJB after Whelan’s old company, but changed its name to the DW Stadium in August 2009 after another Whelan venture, the DW Sports Fitness Company."[/i
Has it not been handed over to the Latics ?
