Wire were worthy winners of the hub cap, played over 27 matches and got very little reward and even less recognition. We won the CC, doing it the hardest way possible and yet somehow it feels like we won nothing. The GF is being contested by 2 teams who have played indifferently all season.
Brian Noble had it right, what you do during the season doesn't matter, what matters is making sure you are in the play offs and you need only win 3 games. Sky and the RFL have conned everyone into thinking only the GF matters. It's no wonder RL, regardless of how good a game it is, lags behind. ![]()

| Suppose reacing the CC final, and then having to play in every round of the play offs is too much, and bound to take it's toll.
Genuine excuse I suppose.
Would be too much to ask for a team to reach CC final AND Grand Final...especially finishing 5th in the league 
Oh well...see you all at the internationals in a few weeks time. |

This time next week you will end up with egg on your face with comments like that. Your record over the past 2 seasons has been less than impressive reaching 3 finals and as yet winning nowt. I think it will be 3 losses from 3. Bridesmaids on the bid day again springs to mind.

I don't think its anything to do with the Challenge Cup. I think we've just lost form in September/October. Its no more sinister than that. Leeds have hit form in September/October, simple.

Spot on.
Credit to Leeds, you'd have been sectioned in May or June if you said they'd reach both finals but they've timed the run-in perfectly. |

We're not really comparable with Leeds on that front anyway, as they say, they finished 5th; they barely bothered to turn up at the beginning of the season, Wigan did.
