I don't think it does - the fact is (whether you believe it or not as a Wigan supporter) he is renowned for being a cheat and for showing a lack of respect to the other team's supporters. To achieve what you're hoping for, however, requires fans of RL in this country to be able to check their club agendas at the gate for internationals. They don't though. Tomkins isn't the first to get the treatment while on international duty and he won't be the last. The "home" crowd has picked at least one England/GB player to get stuck into at almost every test match I've been to, be it at Leeds, Wigan, Hudds, Hull or wherever.

I'll be off down to Wembley again in November hoping for it to be different, but it's more hope than expectation.
