Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39110.jpg

I put both. The reason is they are both satisfying for different reasons.

The challenge cup is awesome because it is unique in RL, it is at Wembley and we have a huge history with it.

The GF because it crowns you as champions.

Both very satisfying.

If you asked me which I would rather win...... GRAND FINAL EVERY SINGLE TIME....

"The mid-to-late 1980s and early-to-mid-1990s is the most successful period for the club to date, however, even without this glorious trophy laden period, Wigan would still have won more trophies than any other professional British rugby league club due to their successes throughout the club's history."[/size:2fqgwsdo]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_52674.jpg

GF for me. Perhaps even the hub cap first although the least fuss is made about it.

Twitter = @Richarddraper94 "The greatest pleasure in life, is doing what people say you cannot do." Rugby League was a game whose laws had been codified by workers in the forlorn north of England; miners and mill-workers of Bradford and Wigan, Hull and Warrington, were invaded by that peculiar genius which concerns itself with the serious business of human games, and produced what was the supreme code, a cellular structure composed of thirteen players which mimicked life and art and war so exactly that it became them.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_61845.gif

I think ask this just 13/14 years ago, people would have definitely said CC and not thought any different. For me, the CC seems to have taken a backwards step and the GF is the significant trophy. Wire have won the previous 2 CC finals, and yet are still ridiculed for having "no success". The GF, for me, is a bigger occasion and shows the success of a season long performance, as oppose to 5 games, which, unlike this year for Wigan having played Wire, Saints and Leeds, can sometimes be easy, 2nd team games for 2/3 of the 5. The play offs force each team to play at least 1 of the top 4 teams in the campaign to get to Old Trafford.
I'll definitely pick GF without a doubt, I've always thought it would be nice to win the CC but the GF does it for me. Also, a victory over Saints easily beats a victory over Leeds in any situation! icon_biggrin.gif

Grand Final for me specially after seeing the club go through some torrid times eg The 2006 relegation battle.

RLFans finest:
Maguire was a black mark on RL in this country. Whilst coaches like Daniel Anderson and Brian McLennan won championships on the back of exciting Rugby league, Maguire set out to win at all costs, evident by the way Danny Maguire was seriously injured and laughed at on the floor by the wigan players as he writhed in agony. Then there has been the constant bending back of limbs, trying to seriously maim the opposition. Even Phil Clarke has jumped on the bandwagon with his disgusting comments about the Danny Maguire incident. I think its fitting that the 2 fairest teams in the comp, who have been on the receiving end of Wigans tactics should contest the Grand Final and make it a proper family day out instead of the knuckle dragging, salivating neanderthals from Wigan, that would pour into manchester on grand final day. I for one cant wait to mingle with the Leeds fans and have a beer with them, rather than having to watch my arms and legs, should wigan have got there.[/quote:3t42372l]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_54062.gif

It's a tricky one, having grown up reading the stories of the amazing cup run, Offiahs try and all that, it felt brilliant for me to finally be able to go to Wembley and witness myself Wigan lift the trophy. To me that was a special moment, and one I won't forget, well, ever.

However, I agree with others who have said that the GF if the bigger trophy. Both offer great significance.

On a different note then, I say we just sit back and enjoy the fact we currently hold both, and let fans of other clubs do the worrying at which one they'd rather win.

If the Challenge Cup was against Stains and the GF against Leeds, I may think differently... its always more sweeter to beat the old enemy.
