| Roby has got to be the Main Contender, he has been superb for us this year, we have been well down on the troops and he is probably one of the main reasons we are still up there in contention with the top 3. In attack he has been tremendous and just keeps going, he is like a Duracell Battery and never tires, looking at the stats makes interesting reading. He will probably set an all-time record for most meters in a season since superleague began this year….
Below is a list of the best meter makers year by year.
2003 – Vanikola with 3677m
2004 – Korkidas with 4084m
2005 – 0’Connor with 4104m
2006 – Nutley with 3372m
2007 – Roby with 3303m
2008 – Graham with 3774m
2009 – Graham with a staggering 4582m
2010 – Graham with 4036m
2011 – Roby leads with 4330m already, Graham is in 2nd with 3333m and Tomkins is in 3rd with 3130m
And then take a look at his stats in defence it’s quite shocking, Sean O’Loughlin is the best tackler at Wigan by a long way, and even if you add all his tackles, plus all Sam Tomkins tackles and even through in Pat Richards tackles as well, Roby has still done more tackles than the lot of them combined. Roby simply is not human…
Away from Saints, I think Sam Tomkins, Menzies, Chase, Monas have impressed me most and in that order..

You do know that Sam is eligible for Young Player Of The Year again this year? He was 21 when the season officially started, which unless I'm mistaken is the criteria used. So in theory he could win both

Cracking post.

| Quote: FearTheVee "I think Jon Wilkin has had a better 2011 so far than SOL - that is the point I'm making. Whether that is because SOL is being held back within Wigan's current system is another question.
The suggestion of SOL for MoS this season is just daft, he's not even close to the reckoning. That is the only reason I made the comparison
Still think Wilkin's the best thing since sliced bread? Or willing to admit now that Lockers is better?
As I predicted, we saw yesterday the class of Lockers. What a player.

| Sam Tomkins must now be favourite for the award.
I said earlier in the week he comes up with plays that win big games for Wigan in comparison to Roby who works that hard he keeps Saints in games.

Think he's nailed on isn't he? Was outstanding today in defence & attack
