General cover yes, but not specific to Prescott as being implied.
My main worry for cover isn't prop but the centres. If we lose Carmont we have no quality centre cover at all. Hopefully we looked around and just couldn't
find the sufficient quality available and when Cross became available thought we have nothing to lose. However as Cross finally signing coincides with Fielden and O'Carroll coming back and Hock working up his fitness we need to pray Carmont stays injury free. |

Both Prescott and Coley have been playing with knocks for weeks, there are no guarantees with Fielden or O'Carroll, so whilst obviously Madge is not a psychic, you can see the reasoning by recruiting an experienced Prop given the availability and precarious situation with injuries. Props are the foundation on which success is built so bringing in Cross was a no brainer.
Looks like he will be required on Friday, will be very interesting to see if he can earn a place, in my opinion I think he will cause Trinity no end of problems if he gets a game.

Come on, man. Read between the lines - Gleeson is going off the rails big time.
You made your original comment as if Wigan were somehow at fault for releasing him mid-season. Talk to any of the players or any of the club staff, and you'll see that Wigan really had no choice.
I would imagine the reason nothing has been publicised is because agreements were reached to respect privacy. |
