Regardless of the Leeds fans who will soon inundate this with claims of us Wigan fans creating incidents -
I think many fans, players and coaches alike have come to see the disciplinary process in RL as a farce.
I think the most telling thing in this weeks citings is Lee Smith'shttps://www.therfl.co.uk/disciplinary/item?2884rl
This suggests to me that there was at least the makings of "a chicken wing"? Considering Tuson was banned for seemingly less last week it again raises the question of consistency; as does the purported claim that Bailey was twice warned by Alibert to "keep his knees down when running into the tackle" in the first half and yet nothing has been done.
Whilst I agree with the sentiment, Coley shouldn't have gone running in according to the laws of the game and therefore a one game ban should be expected. I would however wonder if his record may come into use, as I'm unaware of any previous violent incidents?
I don't think there could be any complaint from any fan, player or coach if things were consistently penalised and it didn't come across that some teams and players seem to be exempt from the disciplinary process.
Maybe, but Fielden was suspended last year after defending himself against Griffin and Mason and after Mason had stamped on his ankle! Whatever the case, Wigan seem to have been punished harshly and Warrington (and Leeds) very leniently in recent years - this fact can't be denied, even by Warrington/Leeds trolls!
Ho hum, i've just been having a look at the Disciplinaries, and it seems that the "On Report" that Ganson threw for the elbow charge on Charnley has been forgotten.
