Having said that I remember Wigan playing something silly like 10 games in 12 days once. I was only a kid so not clear on the details, but we did enough in those games to win the league. Modern players are wimps!

Obviously it would depend on whether anyone picks up an injury or knock. Tomkins x2 at their age ought to be able to backup. I'd certainly not pick Carmont. The others need assessing after the exiles game. I'm all in favour of the concept but why couldn't the RFL have started the season a week earlier and played this on a weekend without any club fixtures.

I'm just going off the fact that Crosby played on Tueday night and the other two didn't. He may still play, and like you I hope he does.

Against Cas I'd start Leuluai and bench Logan, giving McIlorum a week off. He's looked very tired to me these past few weeks, and as a consequence we've not been getting much out of him offensively.

I'd be tempted to start Mellor with Finch. I'm not a big fan of Finch and Deacon together, as they pretty much offer the same thing. At least Mellor has the speed, footwork and the ability to trouble the defensive line. Let's be honest were struggling in attack IMO. If we can't go around an opposition side were struggle to make breaks. Mellor might just be the answer to that, plus he'd take a little more pressure off Tomkins with him being another attacking option.

I read finch went off against Catalan so maybe Mellor is on standbye.
