I'm happy to admit I support both Warriors and the Latics. I don't understand the reasoning behind why some people from each side hate the other, but that might be to me being 17 and not old enough to know about it.

Is that reply an exact example of whats wrong not just with Rubgy and Football in Wigan but for all the major conflicts in the World. Middle East, Irish paramilitary etc. We all got to hate someone as some bigot somewhere told us to do so. Look at us Welsh im supposed to not like the English for someting that happened in 1280ish. Bloody heck i cant remember what i did last week. But most of the people i know really hates the English for doing sod all to them but something happended very serious and very bad which no one is certain of but knows it happened. Ohh and it was the English to blame.

No one bloody knows why the Latics hates the Warriors. They have an apparent reason for it but personally i think its jealousy.

Just had a look at that cockney latic forum, the non football message boards first 5 threads include the rugby! theres about 15 threads about the rugby, obsessed much?

Its got to be jealousy. How can they propose that they do not care about the "thugby" (irony much?!) as they call it yet have so many threads about it on there and I bet that theres almost as many threads on there about Rugby as there are about the football!

Sadly not. Some of the old timers could tell you about the abuse suffered on the old website when Latics were in the 3rd league tier, or whatever it was called then.

going by titles, there are 13 titles about rugby (I presume "ellegren jackets" is about us) out of however many threads there is. God knows how many threads are about the rugby under a general title!
Theres a couple of people on there who put them right when they're talking poop about us though, jewel, Eagle Eye and Wigan Peer (isn't WP on here too?)

Looking at it from a distance,it's clear the hostility more comes from the Wigan RL fans.

Wigan RL had all the limelight in that town for years and years while the football side lived in it's shadow,but along came the football team in the town who made it to the biggest league in the world and took the limelight off the RL side and the Rugby fans couldn't handle it.

Werent really that bothered about them untill I started my new job last year where there are a couple of Latics fans there who simply hate Wigan Rugby! I asked them why and they couldnt explain it just mumbling 'its a sport', or something along those lines.
