You're right regarding the promotion, but they weren't really relegated 'fairly'.
They finished 11th in 2005 (ok so everyone knew the rules at the start, but still) and were relegated to allow Catalans to come straight into Super League. In 2006, Catalans were gash and didn't really deserve to be in SL.
