| Oh look, another thread full of comments bashing a very good Wigan player. What a surprise....
Tomkins had an outstanding SL season and based on last season is the best British player in the comp, with only Pat Richards ahead of him (and Pat for my money is the best winger in the world, certainly I have seen no one in the Four Nations tournament who I would pick ahead of him, the guy is just the complete modern winger).
But let the fans of lesser clubs have a pop at our players if it makes them feel better. Its no wonder they are feeling vulnerable and want to lash out at all things Wigan - they know that their teams face a massive task in overcoming what will be an even better Wigan side next season and they are clearly rattled.

| That hole you're in is looking pretty deep this morning, FTV. Are you going to keep digging?

If you'd really like to rely on that farcical list as a key part of your argument, feel free.
But OK I'll concede - Richards is the bestest winger in the world, which is why in 5 years in the NRL he never even sniffed rep honours (not even City/County I don't think) and he would definitely rather play for Ireland than Australia. No other winger comes close in terms of being tall and a half decent goal kicker.
Just like Ryan Hall was the best young player in the world in 2009 and Shane Hayne the best ref
I see from the 2010 winners that Darius Boyd is a better full back than Billy Slater and Tony Archer is the best ref in the world

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Quote: Ziggy Stardust "You may get close with Folau and Tuquiri before he went to Union, but pat's whole game would ensure none of the wingers you have mentioned would replace him.
Vatuvei-Big unit with good impact, poor mans volcano, nowhere near the skill set Pat has!
Tuquiri-Class act in his prime yes, best years behind him, not as good!
Hayne-Better at full back but Billy the kid is better than him so gets shoved on the wing and looks a shadow of the player he is when he's there! Not as good!
Folau-Great player, can kick and has a superb reading of the game..it would be a close call if he was still a Rugby League player!
Tuiaki-Had a great season in 2009, sadly a bad injury has plagued his career since and has stopped him reaching the heights Pat has! Not as good!
Wolfman Williams-Give over, he's a decent back but is nowhere near pat's skill set! Not as good!
Brett Morris-Quick and strong, not great under the high ball and once again nowhere near Pat's skill set! Not as good!
HTH'"
Good call eh? Wilko..

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |
