I had a gander at the Walk of Fame earlier today which was excellent, but the highlight for me was on the opposite wall. There is a timeline of Wigan stretching from roman occupation through to present day, anyway in '95 it points out Wigan winning the last of the 8 consecutive challenge cups and best of all no mention of the tics. The town is ours.

In 1995 we were saved from the brink of death by a certain Mr D Whelan who promised Premier League football within 10 years. He was laughed at. 10 years later Wigan Athletic were promoted to the Premier League.

Now everyone laughs at Latics instead of Whelan...

had a little chuckle over "The town is ours" it's always been ours and always will be. But it's nice for that view to be reinforced now and again
