Utterly unbelievable - not heard them mention it on the championship programme as thought Carney was supposed to be a big mate of his, just don't know what to say. Desperately sorry for all his friends and family. He loved Wigan and was never quite the same after the new coach at the time shipped him out

Loads of people were in the Ben Johnson last night and said he was serving and seemed really happy. I can't help but wonder what's made him feel so desperate that there was no other way out. It's absolutely shocking, I honestly can't believe it. He was my favourite Wigan player all through my early teens, even when Millward got rid, I still wanted him to do well at Bradford. He was Wigan through and through and I'm gutted that he won't be able to see us play in the final on Saturday.

After watching Terry Newton on Sky the other week, I thought the kid was getting back on track and looking forward to returning after his ban. Totally shocked, and RIP, sympathy to family and friends and all of those in the sport that knew him.

He looked very very low on super leagues supermen, he didn't look like a man who was getting over it but defo didn't look like he could take his own life.
