I did try as clearly as possible to explain the reasons why i used that parrallel. I have quite clearly said the rhetorical statement i used was an idiotic and offensive position statement, in fact it was only used as an example of an idiotic and offensive statement. If anyone is truly offended by it then i apologise if i didnt make that clear enough or they thought i was in any way mocking or denegrating what happened, that was the exact opposite of my intention

he isnt the first player tobe injured, he isnt the first player to break the rules. What has happened to Mcguire has most likely happened to every player, they have at times broke the rules and at times been injured.

Your principle should be applicable to any and all persons. Not only Mcguire


no you didnt say anything about Clarke changing the context. What you did say was the context was changed in Clarkes full quote compared to quote specifically about Mcguire. I am asking you what in the rest of the quote changed the context that was apparent in the smaller quote taken in isolation?

I can't believe there's 36 pages about some Leeds fans getting offended! Quite how much offence could be caused by Clarke's comments about McGuire I don't know. It seems to me it would be quite low on the list of most offensive comments, and I imagine McGuire was able to shrug it off without a care but some Leeds fans seem to be unable to do that. I don't think anything bad will happen to Danny McGuire, the Leeds club or anyone else because of the comments.
At the end of the day, nothing bad happens when you're offended. Who cares if you're offended? It's not going to cause you any harm. Five year olds would say 'sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt'. However, it appears rugby league fans aren't quite as mature!
