It would have made more sense to take it down to the U20's game at Orrell on Saturday.

I see your point but the club are probably looking at it as an opportunity to get new fans or occassional fans into the play offs games or even longer term.

Only diehards will travel to Orrell whereas putting it on in the town centre on a Saturday will attract a lot of passing trade.

Rogues, another thought to keep everyone happy, would be to take the shield to Orrell after the town centre event, which finishes at 2.30pm. Therefore it could be available for half time and after the U20s match.
