| Quote: Cruncher "Having a player like Sam, who can switch effortlessly between the halves and full-back is not a bad thing.
Shaun Edwards did it for his first couple of seasons at Wigan. It helped us enormously, and didn't hamper his learning curve in any way.
Also, I don't think we can disregard the potential arrival on the scene of Joe Mellor. This kid is very exciting, and would undoubtedly have made his first team debut last season had he not been so seriously injured.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Mellor in regular contention for a halfback shirt, along with Finch, Tommy and Sam.
I'd agree that since Riddell has announced his departure, we do seem a bit light at hooker, but otherwise we have quality back-up for most of our other positions.'"
There is also a possibility Deacon could do another year (if rumours are to be believed - always a risky position)- even more cover then as he can cover halves and hooker at a pinch as well.

| Quote: Smooth Stu "Deacs has a better kicking game than Tommy, and is a fantastic back-up kicker if Pat is not available. He is starting to show the skills we bought him for, and I'm happy for him to play another year and put his coaching career on hold.'"
SC permitting, I'd agree.
His experience has been a huge help to us this year, and we may endy up pretty light in the Halves next year assuming Leuluai operates at 9 a lot more.

| Pryce would be world class if he had some bottle but unfortunatly he hasn't. It's a real shame because he's got so much talent and his sheer size is awesome(nothing about socks please) but the lad is just not tough enough and his main problem alot of the time is his inibility to play on with the slightest of knocks.
I'll be pretty sad to see him go because I thought maybe Maguire and especially Wane may be able to change his mindset but it doesn't appear to have been the case. Sadly for Pryce if they can't get that bit more out of him then I fear nobody will and he's going to waste his career.
On the other side of the fence i'm looking forward to seeing guys like Marsh and Charnley move up at least a place in the pecking order as both look real prospects.
